Was thinking about investing in vacuum (DLC) plating to start doing on the safeties. is this something people would be willing to pay a little extra for? it might increase the cost by $8 to 10ish dollars per safety

Personally I would pay extra 5$ for a nice polish over dlc, partially just for aesthetics

    I would like a titanium!

    what cnc are you using?

Grumpy These are not cnc actually. they are printed

To all those inquiring we will have to have a small price increase in the next batch due to the time needed in an extra step. We are now over printing the cam slightly and than putting them in a lathe to smooth out the outer edge. This now will create a more refined product. We experimented with it for stainless in the last batch with great results. Price won't increase to much however. it will bring the stainless to $60 and the die steel to $70. jigs will stay at $5

I think it would be cool if a groove around the cam was added so red nail polish could be applied so it would be easier to tell if it was on safe, supersafe or fire. Kind of like a less safe crossbolt safety. And the HT logo would be cool if Hoffman approves.

Battlpro I emailed you to purchase a safety. Thank you.

BattlePro New on this group, so not sure how to email on here. I am interested in ordering a Stainless Super Safety from you.

IST my email is at the top of this post. thanks!

Amigojdl am i considering what part? we are actively making the safeties

oh yes. I do want to get into this. I just don't know if people will want to pay extra for the coating is all. so not sure if it is worth the investment

                BattlePro
I think if you could try and run both side by side and say the dlc will last x amount longer than uncoated it would be enough to get people to pay an extra ten bucks or so

My question is would the DLC cause more wear in the other components like the detent or the contact point in the trigger?

I like the idea of a full DLC package. Trigger, cam, lever, and detent

Without some sort of comparison the DLC is more an aesthetic option, imo. I don’t know enough about DLC to say if it would improve the wear characteristics on parts that are constantly rubbing.

Thinking about starting to try to print the flat faced triggers as part of the kit as well. is this something you guys would be interested in?
                thanks!

Flat faced triggers would be nice. How much would it add to the cost? And would you be offering them seperately or just part of a kit?

BattlePro I would be interested in DLC coating. DLC has a very low coefficient of friction meaning it has a 'slick' finish and will wear less than other surfaces. For this, it's perfect since the cam is constantly moving and in contact with other parts.
