DNT SS runs like a sowing machine with the A5 buffer system, but after about 200 rds ran through it, I noticed the lever showing some wear on the bottom side at the bend where I assumed it was touching the upper receiver during cycling (this was confirmed after looking at the inside of the upper receiver near the back pin hole and indeed seeing paint being removed from the suspected area. Slight paint removal on top of the lever but nothing worth even sanding as I figured this was normal sliding against the bolt carrier.
Again, not having any issue whatsoever, yet, but with knowing it’s in fact making contact, would the correct way to prevent this contact to be filing down the under side of the lever at the bend, or to dremel/file out material on the upper receiver? Theoretically, I would think the upper receiver as taking material off the lever would in turn make it weaker/thinner. Saw on another post HoffmanTactical commented that removing material from the upper receiver is NOT the way to go. Looking for possibly an explanation on this, or if it’s nothing I should be worried about since it’s running great.
Hope yall can help!
Thanks
