I recently installed a metal SS in my 5.56 AR pistol. Firearm is an aero lower with giesselle utlra duty lpk and standard milpec trigger mated to a 12.5 bcm complete upper. Once installed it passed a functions check, in both semi and ss. However the BCG would intermittently get stuck to the rear.

After some online digging, I shaved down my upper's autosear shelf. This seemed to partially alleviate the issue but if I held down the trigger and slowly brought the BCG back, the issue was recreated. I hoped this was not an issue and took it to the range.

It suffered a malfunctioned immediately with the bolt being stuck to the rear. Could not dislodge it, so I took it home and took a Dremel with a fine sandpaper grit to the top shelf of the SS lever, the issue is still being recreated. To eliminate some possibilities I tried the quarter trick, and three separate uppers - to no avail.

Incite would be appreciated - it definitely appears to be a clearance issue, but I've tried the online prescribed solutions and they have all failed. Should I remove more material from the top of the SS lever??

Thanks

Unfortunately this did not resolve my issue. The lever has been reduced significantly and now the bcg is becoming stuck, every time I rack the action. It appears to be getting lodged in a further back position now

WitchesHammer Sorry I should have also asked this, and did you cut the shelf on each upper?
and when you say you reduced the lever significantly, it's visually smaller/thinner now?
My workflow when reducing material on the lever is to continue reducing material until the bcg doesn't get stuck anymore, but I never modified my lower or upper.
