Bambu PLA-CF?

Hi, I’ve done some searching and haven’t found this specifically mentioned. Apologies if I’ve missed it. Any thoughts on use of Bambu’s PLA-CF (in contrast to PolyMaker PLA+ or Bambu PETG-CF)? (For reference, I only have a Bambu A1 at the moment, so limited to open frame.)

PLA-CF is only useful in that the particles hide layer lines and looks nicer. You wouldn't normally use it for a functional part that needs to be strong because it doesn't have the impact resistance of a good PLA+

Also, I don't think PETG-CF was ever recommended. You are thinking of PET-CF.

rsilvers thanks. I hadn’t seen anything on PETG-CF either. My understanding was that CF adds quite a bit of strength to both PLA and PETG as well as drastically improving the aesthetic (and honestly, I’m kinda going for ugly with this build with colors, so don’t care so much about aesthetic).
Based on what you’re saying, sounds like PLA+ is the way to go. (I have both PLA+ and PLA-CF at this point.)

Yes. The fibers increase stiffness and tensile strength, generally at the cost of layer adhesion. The stiffness of PLA+ is generally sufficient alone, hence no need for fibers. With that said, I have not done testing with PLA-CF specifically, and its adhesion could be quite good. PLA-CF tends to have a low fiber content.
