So I have recently finished building my Orca pistol with 10.5in barrel, I have run around 500 rounds through it and I have a super saftey installed as well, so far it's been great other than being way over gassed (not the Orcas fault) H3 buffer helps but still ejects at 5 o'clock.

After inspecting the weapon I noticed that the barrel mount is still tight but can now be removed by hand, the friction fit is still there but can be pushed in by hand, when I first installed it I really had to hammer it in, (I had to sand the mounts a little as they didn't even fit at all when I first printed them) so I'm guessing it's the plastic contracting with heat.

My main question is, is it safe to use or should I print new mounts and hammer them in? Can the hose clamp and clips hold mount in good enough?

Thanks in advance!

Sch346 While it may be over gassed, the ejection pattern can not be used as a reference like on a mil-spec upper. The deflection mechanics are entirely different.

The looser mounts is as you say, the upper creeping away from the mounts due to heat. It will actually continue to function until VERY loose, but accuracy is effected greatly. Keep the clamp tight, and it will be secure.
