Cool! Do you think this should live in Questions or it's own category?
That's a good question. It probably should be in questions, but because it's a general tooic maybe it's more of a group deal.
Very excited for this forum thank you!
RustyShackleford fancy seeing you here
can someone help me changing something on the SL4.8? trying to modify step file in Fusion, but noticed step doesn’t have the textured grip. I don’t have access to Solidworks, and just need one simple thing changed. The area behind safety, and under rear takedown pin, i’m trying to make a little bit shorter (height wise). In fusion i dropped it down by .15 inches and that got me where i wanted to be, but i want to retain the grip textures.
Freecad user here. The stuff I have to do to get textures...
I use PrusaSlicer to cut the textured grip off of the original STL, load in my STL and merge/move the position of the texture to match my STL. Export plate as STL and now I have my edited model with grip texture.
I also went ahead and made what you requested.
Low Self SL-15-Gripped
Here's a link to my cut grip that I use to merge with my edits.

undeadchew thank you!
I'm going to get into printing parts. Would like some advise on the best brand of printer and material for printing these specific type of parts. I have a decent budget to work with. What do you guys advise ref brand/material. Thank you.
Tacticalrun_556 Bambu or Prusa for the printer. For filament I'd always start with PLA Pro for the first few prints just to learn the ropes.
hoffmantactical I sent you an email before I found this forum. What about the new creality k2? Or Bambu all the way?
I say this for the heated enclosure and being able to use easy type of filament out of the box
I was wondering what I was doing wrong with my super safety it works great in semi auto but when I drop it in the middle for full semi, the trigger pull is really stiff and sometimes I have to pull it twice to get it to go once I get it started. It seems to work fine but that initial pull it’s like Really hard
Does anyone know why my supports are stuck to my prints i just updated some of my cura setting and now i don’t remember what i had them set to
Also im having little droplet build up on the edges of my prints
If you can't remember probably good to just run through ellis tuning guide again .
Thunder3 I don't know much about it, but if there are no glaring issues the K1 is probably good.
hoffmantactical went with the Bambu
Rusty_sheckleford as is with you good sir
