SL-15 Bolt release lever hole way to small for dowel pin

I watched the SL-15 assembly video but I didn't see any effort made to open up the 3/32 bolt release lever hole for the dowel pin.

In one of my assemblies the hole was very tight and i had to drill it out because i was concerned the receiver would break if I just kept hammering in the dowel pin. Did i miss the drill out on the video?

What have you done? Drill it out? hammer away?
Maybe use a 5/64ths bit so there is still some significant friction to retain the dowel pin?

pigseye I just hammer them in and still use split roll pins cause I can't be bothered to find my steel pins.
but I don't see an issue with drilling it out as long as after whatever goes in is retained at the end of the day.

Normally they're designed to be a teeny bit smaller than the pin itself. I bought a set of firearm size drill bits that I use with my Dremel when running into this issue.

The lug is designed to expand to grasp the pin, no need to drill it out.
