Follow up; self cut or pre cut.
The most common issue people have is either they received an overcut trigger or they overcut it themselves.
To verify if the SS does indeed function test, measure the angle at which the lever 'resets' or pushes the trigger forward. The angle should be near vertical and not too far to the rear.
This is an example of an out of spec SS. Notice the angle being around 15 degrees past 90.
