Hi everyone! I assembled an SL-15 around four months ago at this point and have been trying to work out any kinks I have encountered myself and I have been able to resolve all but one. When shooting after one or two rounds unless you hold the gun from the bottom of the magazine the mag pops out of the lower from the bolt. If you do hold it from the magazine it runs like a dream but this obviously is not how I would like to fire my rifle. I have made sure the mag catch is tightened properly and even tried overtightening it by a turn but this did not resolve the issue. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!
Mag Gets Pushed Out Of SL-15 By The Bolt

I haven't had any kind of issues like this, however it sounds like the mag catch is not positioned deep enough into the mag well, perhaps removing a little bit of material on the lower could make it sit deeper.
Another idea is you could bend the mag catch in, if you don't want to modify the lower.
undeadchew Thanks so much for the advice! I'm currently at school so I can't try this out just yet but I move back in with my folks in a little over a week so I will try it then and let you know!
The above surface pointed out by @undeadchew is definitely worth checking, the catch should visibly protrude into the mag well. It could also be a damaged mag, if the catch hole on the mag is broken at the edge, it won't hold.
Lastly, a very loose mag well will allow the mag to shift to the side and fall out. A little looseness is normal, but more play than you would find on other (functioning) lowers is not good.
hoffmantactical Got it, if I do find that the mag well is too loose and it's not the mag catch is there any way for me to resolve this with the current lower or is it just something I would need to reprint. I know it's not a magazine issue as I have tried it with two different magazines that work fine on one of my family's guns.
You would need to reprint, after checking the printers steps per mm.
undeadchew Not getting my hopes up just yet as I haven't gotten a chance to fire it yet but dry cycling it the mag is not getting pushed out now that I have slightly bent the mag catch, if it does work in a live test I may sand down that wall a bit. Thank you so much for the advice!
