FullAutoFilms Hello everyone, I’m fairly new to 3d2a and was thinking of building the sl308. I live up north where the temperature is often in the single digits during the winter. Was wondering which filaments would be the best for these conditions. Pla pro? PA6-CF? Or does it not make much of a difference.
JohnSmith For tempatures nearing -20⁰F, I would choose a nylon filament like PA-6-CF. Be warned though, nylon can be tricky to print.
JohnSmith I would reccomend a printer bed coated with a glue stick, very very dry filament, an enclosure and a 0.6mm nozzle made of something harder than brass, like hardened steel. Finer layer heights like 0.2mm seem to improve strength.
JohnSmith PET-CF is also supposed to be relatively good. Not sure how colder temps would effect it though. If you can, try annealing it.
