hoffmantactical Realized I should start sharing the projects over here as well. I'll start with the little TPU quadcopter frame. Here are a couple of the latest prototypes. Printed in 95A Polymaker TPU with a PA12-CF insert in the top that adds stiffness and holds the PCB in. The arms are currently printed as a separate body that ties into the main body of the quad, this is done using a modifier. Originally this was to prevent the PLA Pro frames from delaminating, but it should also be helping improve strength and stiffness of the TPU. However, a new failure mode has developed. The thin walls of TPU tear after around 100 crashes, resulting in a arm that progressively detaches itself from the frame. I'm going to try a few fixes, eliminating the modifier that ties the arm through the body is one of them. Adding more walls to the area is another, though that has a small weight penalty. The all in one control board I'm currently having success with is the Happymodel SuperX AIO flight controller. Paired with the RCinpower 1202.5 11500 KV motors and 3018 props, flight time is around twenty minutes with a 2800 mAh 18650 cell. Weight less battery is around two ounces.
CCClinton hoffmantactical those are so cool. I watched the YouTube video and was shocked at the durability.
